General Membership Meeting

November 8, 2007

 

 

The Annual Meeting of Home Care Across Illinois was called to order at the Springfield Hilton by President Peg Murphy at 11:45 A.M.  Approximately 40 members were in attendance.

 

Minutes of the December 8, 2006 Annual meeting was disseminated to those present.  A motion was made by Ruth Ann Flowers to approve the minutes.  Therese Macias seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

 

The Treasurer’s report was presented by Gail Ripka.  The current balance is $3372.71.  This does not include the revenue or expenses of this conference.  A motion was made by Maxine Barth and seconded by Margie Harris to approve the report as presented.  Motion carried.

 

Committee Reports:

 

            Legislative – Private duty licensing is at the forefront.  The Advisory Council is addressing the comments submitted and then it will go to JCR.  The rules should be out in January, 2008 and will be effective in September, 2008.

 

            Website – Peg Murphy encouraged all members to use the website.  Ida Blevins is posting information on a regular basis.  All members are encouraged to join the forum.

 

Mary Reed presented the slate of officers as follows:  President-elect – Therese Macias; Treasurer – Gail Ripka; Board Members – Ruth Ann Flowers, Maxine Barth, Teresa Beeler, Anita Andress, Phyllis Wells.

 

Therese Macias moved to approve Alice Foss to serve as HCAI agent for the Secretary of State.  John Pickering seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

 

The following awards were presented:

            Biller/IT – Fran Rosenthal, Jo Daviess County Health Department

            Home Care Director – Stacey Link, Henderson County Health Department

            Home Health Nurse – Kris Schnepper, Clay County Health Department

            Therapist – Dan Bryan, Henry/Stark County Health Department

 

John Pickering was honored as being a founding member of Home Care Across Illinois.  He is retiring after 48 years and will be greatly missed for his extensive knowledge and insight as a long time Board member.

 

Peg Murphy was honored for her past year of service as President of Home Care Across Illinois.  Her leadership and service have been exemplary. 

 

Motion to adjourn at 12:00 P.M. by Mary Reed and seconded by Christine Royer.  Motion carried.
