HOMECARE ACROSS ILLINOIS BOARD MEETING MINUTES

Members Present: Christine Royer, Gail Ripka, Therese Macias, Ruth Ann Flowers, Jeff Workman, Teresa Smith, John Pickering and Maxine Barth

 

Ruth Ann Flowers called the meeting to order at 10:00 AM.

 

Gail Ripka made a motion to accept the minutes of March 11, 2005, second by Therese Macias.  Motion carried.

 

Gail Ripka presented treasurer’s report, we have a balance of $6,544.51.  Flowers were sent in remembrance of Robin Houston.  Jeff Workman made motion to accept report as submitted second by Maxine Barth.  Motion carried.

 

 Committee Reports

 

Web site-Jeff Workman; may transfer to a different Web site host, no increase in cost, no updates, discussion followed.

Contracting Committee: No report.

 

Legislative-Teresa Smith reported the private duty licensure bill moving forward rapidly, if passed will be implemented in 2008.  Discussion followed, lhd’s may have to be licensed as private duty if you have a Public Health Support Program-in which a CNA gives a bath or any type of personal care.  There is a new notice of patient discharge that is to be given to the patient 2 days or ½ visits prior to discharge, patient must sign.  This goes into effect July 2005.  Gail Ripka reported that the home infusion bill is on track.  The Medicaid bill for the LUPA rate did not pass.

 

July conference report: The agenda was reviewed and finalized.  Theresa Smith will be doing the brochure and getting out to membership for registration.  The fee was set at $90/person. Hotel arrangements have been finalized, $69/night for single or $84/night for double plus tax.  Will be able to register by phone or Internet.  Gail Ripka will provide folders for participants, Ruth Ann Flowers will provide the certificates, Jeff Workmann will do the evaluation and Mary Reed will do the agenda.

 

Date for fall meeting is November 18.

 

Other Business:

 

BT training for home health, HCAI is cosponsor with IHCC. Training’s are in July.

 

Discussed benchmarking, Therese Macias reported that region VI is working on UTI. Discussed the census in home health/hospice, cost per visit and cost report prepares.

 

 

Next meeting August 12th.
